Anti-Blair Protests at the Chilcot Iraq Inquiry


London, UK – 29.01.10. Anti-Blair protests in front of the Queen Elizabeth Conference Centre, where the Chilcot Iraq inquiry is taking place. Mr Blair, who was Britain’s Prime Minister from May 1997 to June 2007, will face questions from Chairman of the Inquiry Sir John Chilcot. This is the United Kingdom’s fourth inquiry into the Iraq war. Intelligence officials, senior civil servants, politicians and military commanders have given evidence so far.

Variety of Small Protests Outside Afghan Conference


UK, London – 28.01.10. Protesters outside the International Conference on Afghanistan held at Lancaster House, St James’s, London. Three groups of protesters assembled outside calling for, an end to the war, no deal with the Taliban and an Islamic State in Afghanistan respectively.

Afghanistan Die-in


London, UK – 25.11.09. Students blocked the road outside Parliament, demanding that British troops are withdrawn from Afghanistan. They chanted “free Corporal Joe Glenton” referring to the the soldier who faces desertion charges for refusing to return to Afghanistan.

Anti NATO Protest Edinburgh


UK, Edinburgh – 13.11.09. Around 60 people protested outside of Edinburgh International Conference Center where the NATO meeting was set to take place. There were some scuffles with police when protesters tried to block empty coaches used to ferry delegates from leaving.

British Soldier Heads Anti-War Demo


Lance Corporal Joe Glenton, a British soldier from York, who has recently returned from active service in Helmand province, Afghanistan, lead thousands of anti-war protesters through central London. London, UK. 24-10-09

The march attended by up-to 10,000 called for all British troops to be brought home from Afghanistan. Lance Corporal Glenton has been court-martialed for refusing to return to Afghanistan, now he faces up to two years in jail for desertion. The protest ended in trafalgar square where people listened to speeches denouncing British involvement in the war in Afghanistan.

Die-In Outside Northwood Army Base


UK, London – 27.05.09. Anti war protesters staged a die in outside the Bitish military base Northwood. They were marking the 2nd anniversary of the NATO airstrike in Afghanistan that killed 47 civilians at a wedding party.
