France, Strasbourg – 04.04.09. Demonstrators Clashed with Police while world leaders attended a meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Strasbourg. Police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at protesters, forcing them back towards the city outskirts. The crowds set fire a hotel, a border control post and erected barricaded in streets in their bid to disrupt the meeting. The NATO led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) has tens of thousands of troops engaged in the war in Afghanistan.
